Bucks fans! It’s time to vote for the January North Gateway Tire Co. Athlete of the Month. Nominated for Buckeye High School this month is:

Reagan McCourt – Basketball – Buckeye HS

Reagan continues to prove her mastery as a defender on the court in whatever defense her team is tasked to execute. She has also become a more vocal leader on and off the court while she has always lead by example.

Averages 6 points per game and an A student in the classroom.

Jordyn Thomas – Gymnastics – Brunswick HS

On Saturday, January 16th in a Tri-Meet vs. Mentor and Buckeye, Jordyn won Senior Night scoring three out of four events with a 9.5 or higher. She finished in first place in the All-Around Competition. At the GCC Gymnastics Championships, Jordyn finished 2nd overall on Vault, tied for 5th overall on Bars, finished 4th overall on Beam, and finished 2nd overall on Floor. Jordyn finished Runner-Up in the All-Around Competition as she helped lead her team to a GCC Championship victory and earning Brunswick a 2020-2021 GCC Gymnastics Co-Championship!

Henry Wilkes – Swimming – Highland HS

Henry won every individual event he swam in the month of January. He has also broken 5 school records this season.

Tre Massey – Basketball – Brunswick HS

On Saturday, January 2nd, in a 56-51 victory over Highland, Tre scored 26 points. Tre entered the night with 999 career points. He became the 6th player in Brunswick School history to eclipse 1,000 career points. In the month of January, he helped lead the Blue Devils to an 8-3 record while averaging 25.3 points a game.

Josh Lees – Basketball – Highland HS

Josh had 3 great all around games in 3 wins for the Hornets last week. In each game he guarded the opponents best player. He has been our defensive stopper on perimeter players all year

at Hudson 6 pts, 3 assists, 3 steals (including 2 in the fourth quarter to lead a late comeback and send the game into OT)
